Forensic Lab

The primary focus of the Forensic Lab at the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office is the analysis and testing of suspected controlled substances, or drugs. In addition, the lab conducts specialized analysis on fire debris collected from scenes where foul play is suspected. The Forensic Lab is staffed by two certified chemists, who are both accredited through the American Board of Criminalistics. These chemists not only perform lab-based analyses but also routinely respond to clandestine laboratories for on-site processing and evidence collection.
